When the winds of change blow, some people build walls—others build windmills.

What is wind power?

We've all felt the wind. Maybe a strong wind even knocked you off balance once. There's power in the movement of air. If you can harass a lot of air you have a LOT of power.

Wind power was one of the first sources of energy humans began to use. At first windmills turned millstones to grind grains. Today wind turbines turn alternators to generate electricity.

The Benefits of Wind

With help from our volunteers the price of our turbines per month is less than the cost of electricity generated through burning fossil fuels.

Clean

Wind energy is as clean as it gets. It uses no fuel, none of the water power plants do and produces no emissions of any kind.

Low Impact

Smaller turbines, modern design and proper placement means that wind has the lowest impact on wildlife and their surrounding habitats of any large-scale way to generate electricity.

Independence

Using wind turbines makes you less dependent on others to provide you with an essential resource for modern life.
